Born in the city of Mysore on 17th June 1971, Anju Narain finished her PUC from Maharani’s College in Mysore in 1988, got married and moved to the city of Lucknow in 1989. She then pursued her diploma in design from IGNOU in Lucknow in 1991. She then raised her two sons who are now settled and happily married. In the year 2010, she started her label Myra by Anju Narain Fashion designer Anju Narain pays tribute to her culture and creativity with elegant, stylish outfits soaked in traditional crafts of Lucknow, a city in which she has now lived for more than 35 years.

Her design sensibilities incorporate the traditional Chikankari, Zardozi and Mukaish into modern silhouettes. There has been no looking back for Anju ever since she was invited to design the Grand Finale saree round for the finalists of Pantaloons Femina Miss India in 2011.

Her brand Myra by Anju Narain has been invited to participate in leading exhibitions of India like the Vogue Wedding Show in 2016 and Design One. Her brand has also participated in the prestigious Lakme Fashion Week twice, in 2017 and 2018, and she has also had the opportunity to be a judge on the esteemed Femina Miss India beauty pageant regional rounds. Myra by Anju Narain’s range of designer wear has retailed from leading multi-designer stores of India like Ogaan and Ensemble to name a few.

Empowering the lives of nearly 250 women in and around Lucknow by training them in Chikankari and providing them with a better than average livelihood so that they can lead a life of dignity in this patriarchal society. It was a natural extension of Anju’s childhood inclination to serve, be useful and contribute to the lives of womankind. In the year 2016 - 2017, Anju was the Chapter Chairperson for Lucknow and Kanpur, and served the FICCI Flo Committee, and organized various events and raised funds for skill development. Anju also has a deep spiritual connection, which led her to become a teacher of Art of Living, an NGO committed to bring smiles to the faces of the people in the world through the Happiness Programs. She has also been a recipient of many prestigious awards and has been rewarded for her contribution by various organizations such as FICCI Flo, and the Devi Foundation.

Bringing happiness to womankind by combining inner beauty with outer appearances and being compassionate towards bringing transformation through women empowerment, Anju is passionate about exploring all the facets of womanhood leading towards the evolution of the complete woman, and she is well on her way! We aim to provide stability and employment to grassroot women to help sustain their families. We believe in uplifting the women of the craft, making them vigorous with each growing day.

Myra by Anju Narain has exhibited in coveted shows like Vogue Wedding Show and Lakme Fashion Week with the best designers in India and has also been a finalist at the regional round of Femina Miss India 2011.
